RED-SHOULDERED HAWK

One of the reasons I like Red-shouldered Hawks is that if you very calmly approach them, often they sit and look at you. There is always that threshold, and when you cross it, they will fly away, but you would be surprised how close you can get to some with a still demeanor, and calm motions. I have been within 15 feet of some, and they sat there for 10 to 15 minutes before flying.
