This Red-shouldered Hawk was eating a Southern Black Racer in the pathway at La Chua Trail at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. It tried to fly away with the black racer, but the snake was a little too heavy. The flight lasted all of 7 feet, before the hawk crash-landed in the weeds and then screamed at me as I took it's photo. (see next photo)
