YELLOW RAT SNAKE
This encounter is typical of the animals that can be seen in our state parks. This was on the La Chua Trail at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. I watched for about 15 minutes and finally the snake gave up and moved off. The grasshopper apparently was not worth it.
