SANDHILL CRANE
Sandhill Crane flying at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. Winter of 2008-2009 there were somewhere between 10-14 thousand Sandhills (depending upon who you asked) wintering on the Prairie. Mixed in with the Sandhills were Whoopers, Snow Geese, and many of the traditional shore and wading birds in Florida in the winter.
